APPOINTMENT

We offer a wide-range of veterinary services.

El Gato Veterinary Hospital is proud to serve the Los Gatos area for everything pet related. Our team is committed to educating our clients on how to keep your pets healthy. We offer a wide range of services to make sure your family members stay happy and healthy year round. Looking for the best Los Gatos veterinarian? You’ve come to the right place!

All new clients will be required to pay a deposit at the time of booking and this deposit will cover the cost of your exam fee.

Wellness Exams

El Gato Veterinary Hospital wants to see your pet at least once a year. During these exams, we’ll do a full physical and nose-to-tail exam to make sure your pet is living their best life. We’ll be sure to discuss diet, lifestyle, prevention, and anything else we need to discuss during your visit. Senior pets should see us more often, and we’ll get you on the right plan to do so.

This is a good time to discuss vaccinations and nutritional supplements as well. If your pet does have any issues, we’ll be sure to put together a customized treatment plan.

Dentistry
According to the American Veterinary Dental Society, 70% of adult cats and 80% of adult dogs show symptoms of oral disease. Exceptionally bad breath, brownish plaque at the base of the teeth, excessive drooling, sore or bleeding gums when eating or chewing, and decreased appetite can all be signs that a pet’s teeth require attention. We’ll work with you to provide tips for at-home dental care and get them ready for a long life of healthy oral care. This is important because poor dental care can lead to infections that can spread through the bloodstream to affect major organs such as your pet’s liver, kidneys, and heart.

Non-Anesthesia Teeth Cleanings

Once a month, Pet Dental Services, comes to provide teeth cleanings IF the animal is a candidate to do so, and they must have had a current exam within the last year to do this as well. Contact us to schedule an appointment for this service.

Digital X-Rays
Quick diagnosis leads to quick treatment. Using the latest digital X-ray technology, we can now manipulate the digital images that we take to detect hairline fractures and orthopedic conditions that were previously not visible. Thankfully, X-rays are digital and we can also almost immediately share the images with specialists who consult with us on difficult cases.
Surgery
Surgery can be a source of anxiety and stress for many pet owners. Our team offers surgical services that can benefit your pet. From common surgical procedures, such as spaying and neutering, to less common surgeries, we look forward to the opportunity to care for your pet’s surgical needs.
Ultrasound
Ultrasonography, or ultrasound, is a diagnostic imaging technique similar to radiography (X-rays) and is usually used in conjunction with radiography and other diagnostic measures. It allows visualization of the deep structures of the body.

Ultrasound can be used for a variety of purposes including examination of the animal’s heart, kidneys, liver, gallbladder, bladder, etc. It can also be used to determine pregnancy and to monitor an ongoing pregnancy. Ultrasound can detect fluid, cysts, tumors or abscesses.

Laser Therapy
Laser Therapy is an FDA-cleared modality that reduces inflammation, and that results in pain reduction. Laser Therapy is effective in treating acute pain, chronic conditions, and postoperative pain. Laser therapy treatment is safe, painless and fast. Treatments to deeper tissues are administered in 5 to 10 minutes. Typically, even chronic patients exhibit improvement after 3 to 5 treatment sessions. Laser therapy utilizes the body’s own healing powers by stimulating cellular activity. Despite short treatment times, laser therapy treatments initiate a healing process that continues to actively reduce inflammation for up to 24 hours after treatment. Therapy lasers are the most popular among veterinarians. Laser therapy is a clinically proven modality in both human and veterinary medicine.
Dermatology
Watching a pet suffering with skin issues is never fun. Allow our team to help diagnose the problem, and find a solution through supplements, medication, and food to make sure your pet is not suffering.

Compassionate End-of-Life Care

We know how difficult it is to say goodbye to a family pet because we’ve been there before. Our practice is committed to making your pet’s last moments quiet, calm, and comfortable. When the time arrives that together we can do nothing more for your pet, we will gladly come to your home to perform a humane euthanasia. We will also arrange for final arrangements that meet your needs. Please let us know how we can help you.
