Dear El Gato Clients;
With extreme caution and concern for your health and safety around the COVID-19 virus outbreak, effective immediately, we will be implementing a new policy and procedure to examine your pets. El Gato Veterinary Hospital will gladly see any sick animals. We ask that you not schedule routine appointments, such as wellness exams, vaccine appointment, elective surgery/dentals, nail trims at this time.
If you are sick, PLEASE STAY HOME and do not infect other people.
When you arrive for a scheduled appointment, please remain in your vehicle and maintain the suggested minimum 5 ft. social distance. DO NOT ENTER THE BUILDING, call the office, 408-356-2181, and let us know you are in the parking lot. This will help minimize contact with people, especially in the lobby. We will send staff to you for discussion and your pet will be taken into the hospital for treatment while you remain in your vehicle. You will be fully informed of any actions taken and nothing will be done without your full knowledge and consent. Payment will be done by phone.
If you are ill and need help with pet transportation, please check with a family member or friend. You might consider using a pet transport service such as www.360petcab.com. Please note, this is an independent company with no connections with El Gato, and they will charge you separately for their services.
We will be available by phone to answer any questions or concerns you may have regarding your pet. Please be patient during this process as this is new to us, as well as you and understand that this is done to minimize people exposure. We hope to return to our normal procedure as soon as possible.
Washing hands is still the best preventative.
